teen program (ages 13+)

Continue your training - or start something new!

Whether you've been dancing for years or are thinking about trying your very first class, our Teen Program offers a welcoming environment where dancers ages 13 and older can continue developing technique, confidence, and a lifelong love of dance.

Some of our Teen dancers have progressed through every level of our recreational program. Others discover dance for the first time as teenagers. Our experienced instructors meet dancers where they are, providing supportive, age-appropriate instruction that encourages every student to grow at their own pace.

Classes begin in September and continue through May, culminating in our Annual Year-End Recital at Aultsville Theatre. Recreational dancers receive a custom-made, professionally fitted costume, which is included in tuition.

Jazz R2

Teen Jazz continues developing strength, flexibility, musicality, and performance skills through dynamic choreography, turns, jumps, kicks, and combinations performed to contemporary music. Whether dancers are continuing their training or beginning later in life, classes are structured to provide appropriate challenge while building confidence and technical ability.

Tap R2

Teen Tap develops rhythm, timing, coordination, and musicality through increasingly challenging progressions and combinations. Dancers learn to create music with their feet while building confidence, precision, and performance quality.

Lyrical R2

Teen Lyrical encourages dancers to combine technical skills with personal expression. Through emotionally driven choreography, dancers explore storytelling, musical interpretation, and movement quality while continuing to strengthen their Ballet and Jazz foundations.

Ballet

Teen Ballet students continue progressing through our Classical Ballet program using traditional barre work, centre practice, and progressive technical training. Dancers build strength, flexibility, turnout, alignment, and artistry while preparing for increasingly challenging combinations and movement vocabulary.

Intermediate Ballet 4 continues to refine technique while introducing more dynamic movement, increased musical nuance, and the early preparation required for dancers who may eventually be approved for Pointe training.

Pointe is available only with instructor approval. Dancers must demonstrate the strength, technique, maturity, and work habits necessary to train safely en pointe. Pointe classes continue to develop Classical Ballet technique while introducing the unique skills required for dancing on pointe.

AcroFit

AcroFit focuses on improving flexibility, strength, conditioning, and Acro technique for teen dancers. Working within multi-level skill groups allows dancers to remain challenged regardless of previous Acro experience while continuing to develop safe technique and body awareness.

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre combines dance, acting, character development, and performance. Dancers explore choreography inspired by stage and film musicals while developing Jazz technique, stage presence, confidence, and expressive performance skills. No previous dance experience is required, making Musical Theatre an excellent choice for both experienced dancers and beginners.
