Candy pollard
Studio Founder
Owner/Instructor
Candy began dancing at the age of four, studying dance and performance under the direction of Berenice Dickson. While she trained in a variety of dance styles, much of her early training focused on competitive Highland dance. As a young dancer, Candy competed extensively throughout North America, earning recognition at numerous prestigious Highland Games. She was also an active member of The Glen Productions Community Theatre Company, performing as a dancer, singer, and actor in more than a dozen productions.
Candy completed her first teacher training through the Scottish Dance Teacher’s Association in 1977. Following the retirement of her teacher and mentor in 1985, she taught dance throughout the Cornwall community before opening Studio C Dance School in 1991.
Since then, Candy has spent more than three decades providing quality dance education to generations of Recreational and Competitive dancers. Thousands of students have trained under her direction, and she has remained connected to the local theatre community throughout her career.
Candy is a certified member of the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association (CDTA). Studio C is the only dance school in the Cornwall area with CDTA-certified instructors and a graded dance education system through this nationally recognized organization.
After more than 50 years in the dance world, Candy remains actively involved in Studio C and continues to share the experience, knowledge, and love of dance that have shaped the school since its beginning.
