Our Instructors
Candy (Woods) Pollard - Owner / Instructor Candy began dancing at the age of 4, and pursued her studies in dance education and performance under the direction of Berenice Dickson. She continues to study with Dance Olympus/Dance America and throught the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. In August of 1991, after teaching throughout the community for over 15 years, Candy founded Studio "C" offering dance instruction to children from the age of 3 to adult. She holds qualified membership certification with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association (C.D.T.A). Studio "C" is the only studio in the Cornwall area to have certified dance instructors witht the C.D.T.A. and to offer a graded dance eduction system throuth this nationally recognized organization.
Alanna Pollard - Instructor Alanna has completed her Bachelor of Education Degree at Nipissing University in North Bay, and is currently teaching dance and english at Holy Trinity Catholic High School. Previous to this she completed her B.A. at the University of Ottawa, graduating Magna Cum Laude on the Dean's Honour List. Alanna has completed both the Advanced Jazz and Tap Examinations with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association and now holds Full Member Teaching status with that National Organization. She has studied all forms of dance and, for two summers, toured throughout the United States and parts of Canada with Hoctors Dance Caravan, one of the permiere dance convention and competition companies in North America. As a member of the Studio "C" Competitve Team, she won the title of "Miss Elite Stars of Dance 1996", and has many gold awards to her credit.
Cathryn Matthews - Instructor Cathryn has studied all disciplines of dance and has also completed the Advanced Tap and Jazz Examinations with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. Cathryn is a 12 year member of the Studio "C" Competitive Team and also has many gold awards to her credit. Alexandra McCullough - Instructor Alex has also been a member of the Studio "C" Competitive Team for 12 years. She has won many Gold awards, as well as "special" awards from the Flashdance Competition Judges. Alex has studied many different disciplines of dance and has completed the Advanced Jazz Examination with the Canadian Dance Teachers Assocition. Tana Montgomery - Instructor Tana has also been a member of the Studio "C" Competitive Team for 12 years. She has won many Gold awards, as well as "special" awards from the Flashdance Competition Judges. Tana has also studied jazz, tap, lyrical and ballet and has completed the Advanced Jazz Examination with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. We are very pleased that she is able to work the dance studio into her work schedule and help us out as we require her.
